Prescription Drugs availability

The issue on the jabs is that GPs are trying to downsize the number of sessions they run so it's not fundamentally a drug issue but how the practice uses the space leased to them by the NHS . GPs want to maximise revenue and injection sessions by an HCA are not seen as useful for revenue maximisation so practice managers are instructed to drive clients to local chemists but delay tactics etc. It does mean each chemist has to have records of injections checked by a GP but that generates additional fees for GPs of course. If they could given jabs by teleconsultation they would embrace of course. With GPs being driven to retire by gov policies new GPs are in short supply so as much as possible must be down skilled to HCA levels in new TOM .

Our GP practice is very good with periodical checks and jabs. We've had the flue one every year, always at a Saturday sort of production line clinic. More recently the pneumonia & shingles jabs by practice nurse. If jabs for children were mandatory and included the flue one, it would save the NHS and employers a vast amount of money.
