I think ideally the deck should be sanded before applying kiwi grip, but if you have moulded in antislip then obviously you would be just sanding off the peaks; i wonder if jet washing and degreasing would be sufficient? And how will it interact with the existing pattern on the deck?

Hello

Painted my cockpit floor which had moulded anti slip with kiwi grip last year. It's a thick substance and you will easily cover your present anti slip, and be able to create your own non slip texture following KG instructions. I have a little left, so if you want to try a sample let me know.

It's pretty good at sticking to anything clean but not shiny.
In other words it needs a key, so if there's any glossy bits just key with 100 grit or similar.
The coating is quite rubbery for the want of a better term, so ensure the edges are well keyed.
Also remove masking tape as you go, do not wait for the paint to dry first.

We kiwi'd a deck last Friday.
Masked up on Thursday.
Tinted the colour to what the customer wanted.
Applied with a standard furry roller and then run over again using the Kiwi roller to get the right grippyness.
They say apply it with a notched squeegee but we find a roller much easier but keep a brush handy for tight corners and fiddly bits.
So we have one guy painting and the other guy removing the tape.
This deck is quite difficult to work on so that's the way we decided to tackle it.

PS, will get the boys to do the window border again on Monday as I think it looks pants square.

Thanks; looks good in the photos. The only reason to do it is one section of port side deck has lots of tiny "holes" as if hot fragments from an angle grinder had rained down on it and it's almost impossible to spot repair with gel coat and it would probably look awful anyway.
