Prep for next year

I went on a piratical sailing course, coastal skipper. One thing mentioned was the miles for the yacht master ocean, you have to arrive 60 miles from were you started. So round trips do not count??? Tough on Robin Knox Johnstone than. I was becalmed on my Ailsa Craig trip would that count as stopping?

Now doing the Ocean theory. They always go on about how the gps might break, but never dropping the one £500 Sextant that you have.

Blackpig - Becalmed isn't classed as stopping, as you have not dropped anchor or moored!

I recently done a 400 mile passage, during which involved dropping off a crew member to the shore, and an emergency stop in a marina to get some water - the owner had managed to use a 2 week supply in only 2 days! Unfortunately dropping off crew is classed as stopping, and so was the marina stop - dispite the emergency!

I am currently prepping my boat to leave the U.K next season for warmer climes! If I return to the U.K. I plan on taking my Yachtmaster using one of the many passages I would have made!
