Looks like they are getting their act together. Collinson and Randox offering on site, pre flight testing. Just booked drive thro with Collinson for an Antigen test, which gov website says ok for going to Portugal. MAN website says use discount code MANTEST at end when paying. So £40 goes to £32 each at the end to pay. Booked for mid morning, flying at 8.00 pm. Says results within an hour.

Just checked and Collinson are offering a similar service at Luton and a number of other UK airports.
Covid-19 Testing | Collinson Group

Express Testing are offering a similar service at Gatwick COVID-19 Walk-in Test at Gatwick Airport – ExpressTest

Understand, if you were vaccinated in the UK and have a NHS Covid Passport, if your destination is within the EU, you will require a test before departure but if you were vaccinated in the EU so have an EU Digital Covid Certificate, you do not require a pre-flight test.

Depending on your Covid Vaccination Status and your destination you may have to have a post arrival test. The requirements vary from country to country.

For Portugal, which recognises the NHS Covid Passport, provided you are fully vaccinated with an EU approved vaccine, you do not require at test on arrival but will be screened and if your temperature is 38 or above, you will be detained at the airport to establish the situation.

Whatever, you will still have to complete a Passenger Locator Form.

Potentially all rather confusing so any/all feedback of actual experience would be very reassuring.

This post will continue to be edited/corrected as more information becomes available.

Sailed from Falmouth to Cascais. Cleared in at marina in Cascais. Weren't interested in covid stuff at all. Weren't interested in dog health certificate at all. It could not have been easier. For avoidance of doubt, we cleared in with maritime police at the marina office. It was a pleasure and all the guy wanted to talk about was English music. He is a lifelong Bowie fan?

Direct from Falmouth to Cascais; how many days did that take?

Did they stamp your passport or are you a Portuguese Resident?

Did you volunteer proof of vaccination?

May not be so easy with other boarder control officials?

Did you see any orcas?

No orcas but a few big whales.
We volunteered dog paperwork and proof of vaccination. Didn't want it. He stamped our passport but explained that he could give us a visa extension for Portugal if we wanted to stay longer.
We sailed to Baiona from Falmouth. 3days 9 hrs. Anchored at Baiona because both marinas were full. Went ashore to marina to clear in but since we weren't actually in the marina they refused to clear us in! Told us we had to go to Police station in Vigo, ffs.
We were not doing that so carried on to Cascais.
