Hi VicS, the above photo was successful using the forums site. tonight even with my grandsons help we cannot download from my photobucket site scanning the photo will not give a drop down menu with the option to copy? under each photo there is a blue box -(share -delete- move- edit) dragging the mouse over the img code highlights it but left click or right click does not give a copy option.
Iam sure when we posted a photo from Pb the other night the blue boxes did not appear under the photos, perhaps this could be the problem?

The blue boxes are normally there. They allow you to do what the legends suggest

Run the mouse down to the IMG code line and left click on it. Very briefly the line of code should disappear and the word "copied" appear in its place.

Now go to your post,
position the cursor where you want the picture to be and press and hold the Ctrl key while pressing V and the line of code should be pasted into your post.
or
Right click where you want the picture to appear and click on paste in the box that opens.

No go to "Preview Post" and see if the picture is there.

Getting close. You need to remove the return characters

HTML:

Gives you:

heybridge2010006.jpg

But it is better to resize your pictures to 640X480 pixels so it doesn't make the text disappear off the edge of the window. There is an upload option on PB to do this automatically.

Edit: OK, you fixed your post while I was looking at your picture!

Heybridge hasn't changed a lot. This picture is from circa 1974 and I regret that I never got a photo of George Clarke who was lockkeeper for years and would happily let us out at any time of day or night. SWMBO asked an old boy who still lives nearby how it came about that he was born in the Old Ship. He answered "because my mother was there".

That my next challenge! they are quite large,

When you click the green Upload button you get the "Upload to Photobucket" panel

At the bottom in tiny blue letters you will see " Customise your upload options" Click there and the "UPload options" panel opens. You can now set the size you want for the picture.
You can change again it at any time.

If you want to resize a pictuer you have already uploaded you can do that. Remember the blue box you mentioned earlier. One of the functions available is "Edit" click that and the Editor opens. Resizing is one of the functions of the editor. It takes a few seconds to do and esp to save the edited picture.

OR

if you click the Thumbnail you get a larger version of the picture. Run the mouse over it and certain availble actions are displayed . "Resize" is one of them. It allows a quick access to reducing the picture to various sizes.

have fun with Photobucket Lots of bells and whistles to play with.

One warning though... they quite frequently change things.
