Practical boat owners... really?

New Year, new witch hunt: names names !

Hm, so whom so you suspect of not being a real sailor? I reckon Jimi for a start, with that 8-foot locust-headed rabbit as crew - he's obviously a surreal sailor.

Re: Oh Dear,,,,,,,

Ian,

the Caterham Vs Morgan analogy does not work. There are Morgan people and there are Caterham people and never the twain shall meet. I would not have bought a Caterham if it had been in any way like a Morgan. However, I like heavy, long-keeled boats not modern light-weights.

Evidence?

>>However in reading the posted replies I sometimes wonder how many of the posters providing advice really have boats or any real practical experience.
I am most suspicious of those who post replies of great and positive certainty. Some of the replies are theoretically plausible but in the harsh reality of the sea
going boat impractical or unreliable solutions.<<

Have a look at some of the replies in the "Alternator Running Unconnected" thread on PBO, I think they could support your suspicions!
