Says it all really, three days in, still rubbery. Had some out of date, so bought new, all the same. Whether I use microfibres or balloons. Too cold when I applied it? Hot here today.

I did some tri radial strengthening rovings four years ago in late April, had to put a tube heater in the area for a week. A base for a genset in a dedicated space.

All fresh stuff, mixed correctly, rollered down hard to exclude air, tacky/rubbery after three days.

The yard GRP guy at Hayling Yacht Co. told me to put gentle heat nearby, so I did, and it worked.

I use Polyester Topcoat for filling old screw holes, it's a thick gelcoat but with mw wax incorporated so that it sets in air. You can add colloidal silica, talc filler etc.to it if you want to thicken it and you can also mix it with pigments to match original colour.
CFS GlassFibre Supplies in Redruth Cornwall list it.

Filler powder damp?
Not mixed uniformly?
I tend to warm the work with a hot air gun. Helps the epoxy penetrate and starts the cure.

Got that in the shed ta

I've had this several times and assumed it was me, or wrong conditions. To be honest, just for filling screw holes in my old wood boat, polyester, layup or gelcoat, and microballoons will be fine. I'm fed up with trying to fair it down, just dragging it out and rolling bits of gunge along the surface....and waiting two days as well.
