Most of them were aft cabin, somewhat like a Broom Continental. Usually fitted with HT6354s. Bit dated now but good boats in their day. Sure there's already one there owned by a guy called Kevin that can put away legendary amounts of Guiness.

The 33 & 36 were Bernard Olesinski, the 41 was John Bennett. Dunno who designed the 38 though. There's a guy called Kevin Bennett who has a 38 aft cabin at Chatham unless he has moved to Ramsgate, he was going to move but their stupid 'NO DOGS' rule stopped him, I know they are trying to lose that rule, maybe they have, maybe he's there now.

Ah, Powles boats are a specialist subject of mine.... There was the original 38 of which most were aft cabin which later developed into the aft cockpit Super 38 an example of which MB &Y used as there long term boat (Malin of Hamble I recall). I think one of the boat mags ran an article recently on Powles and included details of most models. They ranged from the 33 upto 53 I think.

I was once told that the 37 which was based upon the Broom/Ocean 37 Hull was not the boat it was intended to be. Apparently the Ocean 37 was meant to be a Powles but the managemnet felt it too avantagade so was further developed by Aquafibre and marketed by Broom. The more conventional but nice Powles 37 was then born.

Don't know if true but good story anyway.

Yes shared the lock with the red Powles 38 before what imediately struck me about this powles was its large aft cockpit, seems extra beamy too but this may be the visual effect of the hull which tapers out quite markedly from the water line up.
Looks very nice boat.

I think the Blue one has been fitted with big volvos recently, it was also owne by michael Caine so I'm told. There is another light blue hull one in Nwuieport.
brooms had one for sale the dark blue plastic inside was awful but I just love the shape of the transom.

Now I am really bewildered, who was in a Coma? I remember Commer Trucks & vans but they have come to a stop and not a Comma.
