Powerboat wash in the Solent & Southampton Water

Re: The publc good????

Welcome to the forum. One of the problems with posts such as yours, is that your "bio" gives no indication as to your background or experience. Your opening post automatically leads people down a certain path. It is only late in the thread that you provide any information relative to your experience. There are those on here who have boats too match the size of their wallets, not their experience! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I believe that more details as to your background in the first instance may well have promoted a different reaction!

Just an observation /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Another view maybe that you deliberatley posted to create controversey - but only you would know that! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

So Kev, are you suggesting that if you only have a 16 ft boat you should not take to the Southhampton Water or the Solent, so you can have a clear run in you gas guzzling power boat?

Surely not?

Why not? You dont ride a bike down the M1, do you? So why not seperate the extremes of boating traffic? If you think about it, we already do that in the shipping lanes.

So I reckon that small sailing dinghies maybe ought not to be using the same waterways as big commercial ferries.
