I have a Fletcher Arrowbeau with BMW I/O (B190) and I am considering fitting some form of power steering. Has anyone ever done this, either with an aftermarket kit or other sourced system? The present steering is the normal Teleflex.

Any ideas?

Some auto-pilots include a power steering option. But! Do you really need it ? Your Teleflex on your sort of boat should be very free and easy.

Oooops! Haydn! I thought it was bad news to grease Teleflex cables, greasing/oiling cables being a total No No on account of it attracting grime.
I await our resident forum engineer's remarks on this one.

If you want i've got a V*l*o Penta power steer adaptor for a Teleflex setup. You will need a p/s pump running off the engine tho.

Had to take it off mine when i fitted hydraulic steering

Been there, done that, got the oily T shirt
