Out today doing 14knts in very big swell when I thought we had lost both engines but wheat to see engines running but no drive wheat back to bridge and moved the controls and we got back to base no more blips ?????
Nah! It's the wheat, it's bound to cause problems.![]()
The wheat is OK, it's the chaff you need to worry about.
Is it me or were boat engines better before they strapped the electronics on? (no experience but from reading, they seem to be good for fuel efficiency and service intervals, but always going wrong.)
I would avoid modern engines if I can.....our agricultural Perkins are just fine....simple and easy to work on.
Big Swell?, Could it have been that this lifted the props close enough to the surface to cavitate?
