Bit more upmarket than the four pie and a pint type pubs in Lower and Upper Upnors.
Bit of pain to get to from MDL Chatham or Gillingham Marina.
But decent quality food and wine and some craft beers in one of the old RE workshops

Other choices.
Lower Upnor.
The Pier.
Spacious more family friendly pub and mainly catering for day trippers etc ,usually decent selection of better beers and lagers.Still serves sunday lunch when most pubs have called it day.
Serves two sizes of Roast catering for those of us who still wish to be able to see our feet,
Nice area out front to view river activities.
The Ship. Basic good grub plus usual selection of boring chain beers/lagers.
Tables a bit squashed, usually packed full of locals and yachties.
One or two tables out front very obviously used by smokers

Upper Upnor.
Kings Head
Tiny bit more upmarket and probably regards itself as restuarant with bar attached.
Decent food, a CAMRA pub and proud of it.
Tudor Rose
An intriquing higgledy- piggledy pub a wonderful example of a Georgian pub unsullied by fake beams and horse brasses for a hundred years until some moron filled the place with painted fake tudorbethan beams and horse brasses.
Has since reverted to original decor.
Hidden way down a cobbled street, very basic value for money grub only let down by some of the locals unable to keep the noise down.
All are independant outfits.

If you want chain food.... loads of identikit places over in Dockside near marina.
All bearing fancy foreign names and food bought in from a factory probably in Slough.
