Hi Kev not yet in the water, she is up Robs land on the trailor he is investigating a prob with the Turbo. Today I have procured Berth numero uno (10m) in the Marina the corner one nearly outside my shop.

Once she has been fixed, serviced and polished I will get her in the berth and do some sea trials :~) Should be before xmas if all goes well, so if you are down again before the new year we'll have a spin in her.

Oh gawd thats different

Launched the Jet boat today so with some trepidation I took her out of the lift out bay.

With the gear lever in "neutral" and the engine running the impellor is still sucking in water and discharging it so the boat does actually "creep" as its not a true neutral, like when you stop a prop turning by selecting neutral.

Adjusting the gear lever is necessary to try to keep her still.

The best bit however is when to go to dock alongside for the first time.

With a single screw stern drive I imagine we all when coming alongside starboard side to, at at the correct angle of approach, with the way on, we pull her into neutral, turn the wheel to starboard and engage reverse to get the stern to got to starboard.

Erm with a jet boat in the same situation you turn the bloomin wheel to port..........so this takes some getting used to I can tell you.

That said with practice, (and I nearly did it today) as you approach the dockside again intending to go starboard side to, you can bring her bow in at a steeper angle using port helm to bring the nose round and if you get the timing right (with way on) slip her into reverse leaving the helm to port, and the back catches up with the front and the motion become sideways. I'm gonna work on that one til I get it perfick cant wait
