I have Polish hatches on my boat and the only thing wrong is broken hinges. I have found the company that makes and can supply the hinges but they must be collected by courier at the factory gate.
Can any one suggest a company that would help in sorting the tax implications on collection/delivery to the UK. Bearing in mind the factory gate value is £115 for the hinges I need?
A friend in Holland has suggested delivery there and then we could arrange to deliver/collect accordingly, but I am still waiting for the Polish company response..

So frustrating as replacement hatches would actually cost more (~£3k) than the trip to Poland to collect. Photos shown if anyone can suggest an alternative source of suitable hinges.

I've only got a small lifestyle business but am now reluctant to sell to the EU to the excessive charge an in particular the annoying delays (often many weeks).
I sent a second hand mainsail via DHL to Denmark. Package folded really tight, with rolled battens was 1.1 M *1.1 M * 200mm. I forget the weight.
It was collected on a Wednesday & delivered on the following Monday morning. No hassle, or form filling or tax etc.
It actually was scheduled for Tuesday & it was only by luck that the recipient saw the delivery driver.
It cost £80 to deliver it.I did not feel this excessive considering it was collected from me & how far it went.
Biggest hassle for me was finding a sack to put it in, parcelling it up & doing a label.

If the Polish company's problem is the export to outside the EU (which is a complete pain for a company), then this is definitely the easiest solution. It'll cost you the Polish vat extra of course.

As it's under £155, the Polish company needs to register with HMRC, collect the UK VAT, then send hinges and paperwork. (If it's over £155 the courier does it)

Hence it sometimes is better to order an extra set, pushing the price over the £155 bureaucracy limit, in which case many suppliers will then be willing to send to the UK.
Keep the extra set for the next need, or resell in the UK.
Has worked for me in the recent past.

The moderators have kindly devoted some of their most valuable time to send a little PM to the effect that a slap on the keyboard finger of OG is in order, for mentioning a word which starts with the second letter of the alphabet in this thread and being contrary to the rules, has been deleted.

It would appear, that some brave soul has been diligently scouring the forums for something to complain about and finally and triumphantly surfaced with a post from early June.
We salute you. Mon Brave :)
