Possible Storm Surge Saturday pm

Whilst HW doesn't exactly coincide with the predicted surge, the way the pressure systems are at the mo, anything could happen.
Looks more of a threat further south on the Anglian Coast but could cause some long HW stands (or high LW) along the coast.
Still worth keeping an eye on this one though.

Good job they've finished the pile extensions at Shotley!.... the piles are sufficiently long now, that if they are topped over, then Ipswich will be under several feet of water!

I can never understand graphs. If we are going to get (Ipswich) a Northly wind with more than 4m of tide I am interested. Anything less is not a problem is it Sailorman?

No problem as it doesnt coinside with HW. i am not the OP, it is forecast to get a tad breezy

Failed again! Didn't flake the anchor out. Trust Belinda does not drag across the yard.

she is fine,A|pontoon has a line from our finger as A hammer hd pile is dodgy & planned to be replaced.
Landguard wind topped 43kts overnight, my aerogen output was 3.6amps at one stage over night, batteries are brimming

Never mind that, there are some very high tides predicted for 22nd and 23rd January, and if there is low pressure as well, we could have flooding

Am confused as on the 1310 CG forecast yesterday they were reporting a 'negative storm surge' so I was expecting to see less water than predicted. HW at Shotley was late yesterday afternoon. The lock was able to be held on free flow later than predicted.

Which was just as well, as the max surge was around 1.5m!!
