Position of wind farms

as I crossed the Firth of Forth requesting I remain 2nm clear of a survey ship for yet another Wind Farm.

On what basis ??

Probably an acoustic survey, they require a good distance in order not to have interference.

If the windfarm is under construction then there is usually an exclusion done, these are usually declared in NTM's. When maintainance or survey work is being carried out I'm not sure if a NTM is required or not.
