Thanks @Graham376Was the boat on UK register when you bought it or German? If German and they're like the Portuguese, it must be VAT paid (or exempt) to put it under their flag.
It wasnt on the UK register, it had a German flag
I cant even remember if I had to deregister it from Germany, or if my application for the SSR handled that, or if I just didnt do it ..

If these certificates are to prove that we are competent, how come if we move we suddenly loose our competence?

PS: I found an email from years ago from ETAP themselves and they said that from my Hull number the boat was built in 1981, but still not sure how I got the day and month.
