Am I reading this right? They seem to be saying that during the air displays (four periods of 30 minutes over the weekend) the entire Harbour and Main Channel south of 50° 50’ N will be closed and is to be clear of all traffic. That is up to about 2 cables off Portchester Castle and includes three miles of main channel and a mile and a half of Port Solent channel. How are they going to clear all traffic from that area in resaonable time?

They manage it every time with lots of ribs and the police patrol boat. I personally am really looking forward to the air displays. Can't wait to meet the wrens who serve in the navy!

is that not a garden shed

[/ QUOTE ] Look closely at the bottom of the picture and you can just make out the face of the shed's occupant. If it's a shed it was giant of a dog too /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Credit where credit's due; I rang QHM yesterday for clarification of the LNTM and was given the number of the port surveyor. I left him a message, he called me back and explained exactly where the flight line will be and the width of the area where it is considered unsafe to moor or anchor and watch the display.
He was also glad to hear that at least some of the small boat owners in the harbour are reading his notices.
