Portland Bill

We did Littlehampton - Dartmouth in 20 hours 22/23rd May. With a good ebb under us we touched 10 kts off St Kats. Wind on the nose, main and Iron jib. We did think of going Cherbourg/Dartmouth but went direct as the wind was very light.

Came past Portland couple of days ago after enough wind to sail for half an hour, then motored all the way to Brixham having been turned away from Torquay. Saw some dolphins in Lyme Bay and Porpoises off Brixham. I reckon that between Harwich and Brixham, I have motored or motor sailed for 80% of the trip! Everywhere very busy and will be knocking Weymouth off the visit list due to price v facilities. Will try Portland on the way back. The best sail was from Gosport to the Needles then the wind fell away.
