Portishead Marina

Hi all. Just wondering about Portishead marina. I went last year and hadn't been for a few and noticed the building that looks a bit like a cruise ship when waiting for the lock and when we went to the jacks restuarant I noticed that the very top end of the marina had been made very shallow and it looked like there was a building site temporary fence in there. Does anybody know why this is?

I think that the top (SW) end of the dock basin in which Portishead marina is based is not part of Portishead marina. I'm not sure it ever was.

It seems to be a place for people to feed the swans.

Oh but it used to be deep there.

There is a rope running across, on the far side of that it is very shallow,but the main pool is OK, I have been down the end driving round in circles bedding my new cone in etc a few times. Its certainley deep enoough to use.

Some times you get a fleet of toppers there but they aren't supposed to be there so you can apparently ignore them. I assume they will scatter....
