Is it open for business yet, are all the moorings taken?
Was hoping it would have been ready towards the end of the summer, maybe now the spring?

It originally billed itself as opening May 2013, which was optimistic. There's a guy keeping a sort of photo log of the work on Flickr and it seems to be more or less there as they have piles and pontoons in now. I heard there is a waiting list for berths. Like the OP we are not bothered about berthing there but are looking forward to visiting, going to be next season now I guess. Still maybe a laugh if they still have that Elvis festival!

I see the lifeboat towed a boat into the marina today, I guess it is open now. Anyone here been there as a visitor yet?

Travelled down to see the marina on 28th. Pontoons floating with some boats but the site has no access. It is surrounded by building site barriers. You'll need a hard hat as well a life jacket.

I heard from the harbourmaster last week. They are not ready for visitors, no facilities.

They are only operating locks for daytime tides for the winter which kills off the idea of going there.

I think the 60 knot SWly may rule it out for now.

I read earlier there has been some damage to the seawall at Portcawl. I hope the gates are not affected.

They won't last forever, you just need to get out in the calm bits before the storms. Tomorrow looks good for a trip around the Holmes although a 0.6m low tide might mean a wait to get back in

Has all the fencing been taken down yet. Any sign of toilets/showers?

Still looks like a construction site .Theres access to the pontoon gate. Hoped to try and find the manager/harbourmaster for a chat but didnt have time.

They still have free berths. They called me today to offer me a berth. I decided to turn it down and stay in Cardiff for another season. The lack of facilities, the building site, and the limited access to the lock put me off.
