Hi
I am looking to buy a portable radio that I can use to get weatherfax on my laptop. Any recomendations welcomed.
I have a NASA HF3 onboard but want to setup at home and have a spare to use on the boat.

I believe that Icom make a ham HF radio which is computer driven ie attaches directly to your lappy as a slot in card. Try Google

Hi Steve!

Try the larger Sangeans (badged Roberts and others) they work very well. I use one (cost circa £160) and get excellent wefaxes and RTTY sat in the lounge with a bit of wire draped over a pelmet!

I've posted a couple of times in response to 'Richquest' (or Richsquest) so you may care to do a search for mine and other posters views.

Cheers
Jerry

To receive will you need a good antenna! Even the best radio without will give you no results.
