Portable Jump starting battery for vp d4 diesel

Most are cheap Chinese rubbish using standard components just packaged differently, in many cases there claims are massively inflated by using laboratory testing results, and having tried many of the cheaper brands I can confirm most are crap.

I also have a Durite and can recommend it as it is intelligent and it has protection for sensitive circuits which is insurance backed.

…….Well the manufacturer print carries a warning...... WARNING: If the engine does not start immediately on the first try, disconnect the jumper cables from the car battery and wait at least 10 seconds before reconnecting the jumper cables to the car battery. .... thats not for the health of your slave system btw

And of course, everybody reads and obeys the instructions, don't they?!!

I will tell you how I came to buy a durite unit, a rep from the local durite agent came walking in and said would you like one of these on a special deal and waved this jump pack at me that was about the size of a small lady’s handbag, after I had fallen out of the chair laughing, I said I’ll buy 3 if it starts the dead truck in the top of the yard (the dead truck being a Iveco 500 stralis that had not moved in two years, batteries so flat it wouldn’t even turn the dash lights on, well to my surprise it did and so I bought 3, my gutters love them on breakdowns especially when truck drivers start laughing about the size of the unit, so far we have had these 6 months and they’re in use on some breakdown or another almost daily.
Durite have always done good kit and their 12 month warranty is no quibble, meanwhile I’m considering taking the monster auxiliary tractor batteries fitted to our 3 service vans off the vehicles to save weight and space. I had always been sceptical of jump packs due to the lack of punch but these are first rate and I’m suspecting some of the cheaper copies are not so bad either and if you use a jump pack or slave battery the risk of ecu spiking is minimal even on Merc and Scania engines

morning everyone,

I have a quick question for you, Do you think one of these

Arteck Car Jump Starter Up To 4.0L Auto Battery Charger and 12000mAh Portable External Battery Charger for Automotive with Clamp, Flashlight, 12V Output 400A Peak: Amazon.co.uk: Car & Motorbike

Would be capable of jump starting a volvo D4 diesel?

Just asking as I'm wondering if itmight be worth having one on board as a backup in case I accidentally manage to flatten both my batteries while away for a couple of days without access to shore power. Its an unlikely scenario as I do have separate starting and house batteries but you never know.
I bought one In a place I used to work. Started diesel transits etc with completely flat batteries in winter without breaking a sweat. We used to have 3 truck batteries in a trolley to do the same job. Amazing things.

Local supplier had them on offer as they were doing a live demo and I just happened to saunter in for a Durite split charging unit and they asked me if I would like to see a demonstration, free, unlimited coffee helped, and I was impressed with what I saw and with such a discounted price it was a no brainer as they start the often defunct Gardners I often work on with ease.
