Interesting.
Two of Sunsail's older boats left PS through the lock this afternoon heading East up the Channel (see AIS)

Even if they claim commercial status I'm not sure social distancing can happen even on a 40ft Yacht.

They probably cannot, if they are not single handing. However, if working, they would not be breaking the regulations AIUI. The HSE line is below, my bold.

"Employers who have people in their offices or on site should ensure that employees are able, where possible, to follow Public Health England guidelines on social distancing (including, where possible, maintaining a 2 metre distance from others), and hygiene (washing their hands with soap and water often for at least 20 seconds). "

Sunsail have a lot of their boats for sale at the moment - Quite possible that some of these older ones are boats that have been sold and are being delivered - if you have a genuine pro delivery skip and a partner or grown up child that is a good sailor and self isolating at home with parents and is ok to crew, then can see how they could be employed to deliver the boat and be ok.

But other than that then one does have to wonder

Like so many you are not looking at the detail of the actual legislation and guidance The requirement for 2m separation at work is not absolute - see below from the HSE:

The FOUR dustbin men in the cab of a bin lorry last week were clearly less than a fag paper apart.

Do sunsail actually own any?

The Port Solent fleet were historically owned, don't know about current ones. The usage, and damage levels, would suggest ownership
I always understood they were 'owned' by others & given back after some years of use, with actual owner being given share of any charter income along the way.

What's a genuine pro delivery skip? Anyone can charge money for delivering a <24m yacht.

Probably someone who has a commercial qualification thats acceptable to the boat owners insurance company. Plus of course, a person who does the job for a living, has wide experience and carries their own personal indemnity insurance. And operates under a contract with the owner.

Amazing people.

Seems that lots of employers are going to great lengths to ensure social distancing for their employees. Even where this reduces output. Possibly worried about liability to staff who become infected?
