Port solent new year

So I am trying to work out what to do for new year, and wondering if it can involve the boat based out of Port Solent.

Anyone done a new years cruise? is everything closed down south?

Will be on the boat in Gosport but weather may dictate its only a cruise to Port Solent, but it could be one of the cracking crisp frosty morning with azure blue skies, trouble is very difficult to plan in January so its all spur of the moment.
