Morning All,
There does not seem to be much mention of Île d'Yeu on the forum. I think it is one of the nicest stop-offs on the coastal route around Biscay, or even a destination in iteself.

Drawing 1.8m I was fairly restricted on where I could go and at what time along the coasts of Biscay, so Port Joinville looked a practical option. I was very pleasantly surprised by the beautiful island. Wonderful empty beaches with white sand, hardly any cars but plenty of bicycles and horses. Pine lined sandy roads, characterful villas, charming French restaurants and people.

Has anyone else enjoyed or considered this wonderful island as a destination ?

We stopped there a few years ago on the way to the canary islands and really liked it there. A great place to then head sw to get across biscay.

Real estate prices in Ile d'Yeu (and Ile de Ré) are more and more aligned with central Paris; after Covid and the development of distance-working the real estate in those areas has boomed; I was in Vannes a couple of weeks ago, there are real estate brokers at every corner of the road.

We were there a couple of weeks ago and going back tomorrow. It’s a great place (but that pretty much is the same for the whole coast along here). It’s been a great summer so far.

My pics from Île d'Yeu are not so good - I think I was there only one day, and it was overcast.

My pics from nearby Belle Île:
