Apologies for not posting in lounge, but unlikely to get an intelligent answer there.
Due to impending mid life crisis, we are looking at new cars. So a Range Rover as the main family car, & a Porsche for a bit of fun & as a spare. Question being, are the back seats big enough for two small dogs (Cavapoo) to be comfortable ?
Nearest dealer 50 miles away so will go look if answers are positive.
 
We went from a Cayenne to a 911. At first our Westie was disappointed, but now he is fine. He is snug in the back, but I think he loves the acceleration.

Is the RR the class leader in big 4X4's?

As has been said already you will get a couple of small dogs in the back of a 911

The backs of the seats fold forward to reveal a flat surface.

To be honest stock levels quite low at the moment as we are selling as fast as we can buy them. If anyone happens to be thinking of selling their Porsche we are extremely motivated for the right cars ......... :)

I've always thought a boxster/Cayman is much better value, less likely to get keyed, more like to be let out at a junction, and does everything a 911 can do within the limits of the law
 
One problem (and bizarrely I speak from knowledge as I have a close friend who went from an Audi estate to an M3 coupe) is that the dogs may not be able to see out of the windows. I thought my friend, or at least wife of my friend, was being rather precious but then it was explained that the dogs got sick because they couldn't see out. They also ended up in the footwells a few times I believe..

As for Porsches, if your set on a Porsche then fair enough but otherwise do please try an Evora 400. It's still not got the hewn out of oak solidity of a Porsche or flashy dashboards but it's a long way from Lotuses of old and it is beautiful to drive with that lovely supple ride that Lotuses seem to have.

All agreed, I actually believe that the 6 cylinder boxter s is a better car than the 911, I bought one in preference, but, boxters/cayman and evoras et al have NO back seat of any description.

Maserati a brave choice. Not as solid or as fast as 911, more unusual, and Granturismo a very pretty car imho. (Grancabrio less so perhaps). The V8 sounds great and 2 adults can happily fit in the back seats for a reasonable journey. Driven 35k trouble free miles all over Europe since 2008.
 
Well, you learn something every day. I was not familiar with the term "cavapoo" although, having looked it up now, do recognise the type. They look cheery little souls. I'm sure they'd fit it the back seats of a 911 (but avoid 991GT3RS with deleted back seats, obvs.) ?

That's a very odd statement. Have you ever owned a Boxster or Cayman? You can get so much more stuff in them than a 911. The Cayman is even better in that respect and they both handle better than a 911.

They are not, however, very suitable for dogs - even small ones.

I am not going to get into a conversation about what Porsches I have owned as to be honest I would be cringing if I were a bystander and read this.

I am very well qualified (believe me ) to say what I said.
If dogs are your issue re space by a proper dog transporter not a silly sports car, and buy an estate or a 4x4

That's my last contribution on this topic

Have you considered a classic? No 911 Porsche ever beat an Escort Rs 1800 on a rally; not in the same ball park for handling and performance on the twisty bits .

A classic Escort RS with modern 2.4 Ltr Millington cosworth rally tune engine, four link axle, electronic traction control and custom interior.

Lots of room on rear seat, bullet proof classic investment, twice as quick as a 911; doesn't elicit the envy hatred that a Porsche does.
