Ever fancied getting around a little quicker? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

WARNING, this MAY upset the raggies, Don't know about the wash though /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Wash might be OK as there's very little actual wake to worry about by the looks of it.

Probably because there's nothing in the water about from half a prop !

Re: Poole to The Hamble in 8 minutes or less, easy with this..........

Wouldn't upset this raggie - he would have a smug grin on his face, while he pootles along at maybe 5 knots - no wind, so he would be burning about 4 pints of diesel an hour, and having a wonderful time out on the water.

And he might even feel sorry (if in a good mood) for the poor mobob*gger who melted his gold credit card 4 minutes earlier purchasing gazillions of gallons of juice (diesel? rocket fuel?) in order to hurtle his aquatic spaceship off to the pub for lunch.

Upset? Far, far from it!
Raggies forever!

Re: Poole to The Hamble in 8 minutes or less, easy with this..........

I don't know why you think it would upset raggies. We mostly do it for the peace and quiet and the solitude. I don't think you understand our mind set.
Certainly I'm live and let live. I'd rather be out on the water listening to the creak of the rigging and enjoying a nice cup of tea. I'm not trying to compete with anyone or prove anything. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

This raggie would say.. "What the **** was that?"

Kind of dont blink or you'll miss it.

Certainly wouldnt upset me.

What would you do if you were on a collision course with it, and you were the give way vessel..... start plotting? How would you know?

Re: Poole to The Hamble in 8 minutes or less, easy with this..........

That's my point, you could choke on your mug of tea and your digestive biscuit if that flew past you /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I doubt you would hear it coming, it would be there and gone by the time you put your slippers on to go up and have a look /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Re: Poole to The Hamble in 8 minutes or less, easy with this..........

Nothing is going to make me choke on my biscuits. I like diversity. It will whizz past providing a couple of seconds of amusement, then it will be gone and I will get back to watching the sunset. If it is what you like to do then good luck to you and be safe doing it. Years ago the Virgin Atlantic Challenger whizzed past in testing prior to any press release so no one knew what it was. It was interesting but didn't make me choke on my biscuit. Not my idea of fun personally because I don't see the attraction of being shaken and vibrated for days on end until I hallucinate: I can go to a stone circle, pick some mushrooms and hallucinate in the comfort of my armchair if that is what I wish to do.

I think fast mobo-ers should enjoy life while they can, before the public mood encompasses compulsory bendy water buses for taking people from A to B.

I admire the technology, but not the mindset.

Awesome video.

Wash - what wash? I get into more trouble at 6 knots than this guy at WOT /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Wow, you must have srcaped your gel coat a few times. Bet that bloke fishing was sh*ting himself!

Now stop messing around on this thing and get out on that boat, like you said you were!

Too boring, all I can see is a mobo owner cleaning his hull /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Yes I second that. Get some practice in for the Trans Atlantic GC1 /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'm off for a couple of days on SV2 just as soon as swmbo deems that she has delayed just enough to ensure that we don't get over the bar /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I wonder if it's cheaper than a lift out /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes Geoff, I'm off now, lovely day here, I may try and re create the last video, Oldgit and Unit18 may get a glimpse of me passing as I head up river /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
