Poole Harbour - Propane gas

MDL at Cobb's Quay definitely do butane, not sure about propane. 01202 674299 if you to ask.
Another option perhaps is to take the rib to the Marina and ask there. You may have read about high berthing charges there but a short stay is cheap or free depending on their mood.

Do you definitely mean propane, or just cooking gas generally (which is more likely to be butane)? Pete

Propane, (red cylinders). We have an American cooker (as an aside, it not only uses the "wrong" gas, it won't make toast :grumpy:) .
Which is why I asked for advice because propane is harder to find than butane (blue cylinders) and I don't want to park the RIB and then walk miles with first an empty cylinder and then a full one.

Most calor gas dealers do propane. I swopped my blue ones to red propane as butane is useless in Winter.

Calor depot is about 1.5 miles north from the quay. Why not call them on 01202 338070?

Might you consider the option of a swappable GAZ regulator too ?

I know Gaz is more expensive but a lot of cruising boats - and internationally travelling motorhome campers - keep both options available.

Gaz came up with a marine use regulator a few years ago, would be a good idea for safety and insurance.

Thanks, but it's Sunday.

Good idea.

Meanwhile we have our propane. Very pleasant if choppy ride to the Town Quay, a brief excursion to see the RNLI HQ, a pub lunch, then local advice took us on a 15 minute walk to Go Outdoors who sold us the gas for less than we have been been paying at chandlers. :encouragement:

It's lovely here.
