That is why I asked AndrewB if he really meant 'anchored'. See post #10.

If AndrewB hadn't mentioned anchoring, I'd have bet on it being on the middle buoy on the east side.

Yes, apologies, it is possible I was moored. I said anchored because we generally do, even when moorings are available. This is the result of losing a boat many years ago after tying to a rotten mooring.

I can visualise it now. The Photo in post 9 would appear to be taken from the harbour wall with the harbour entrance to to the left and out of view. I think the yacht must have been moored to one of the bouys.
I originally thought this was some other small cove which looked ideal for an anchored lunch stop!

Finally visited for lunch stop last Saturday at low tide; doubt if forum users would approve of my attaching the mooring buoy to midships cleat to avoid swinging into fairway but it worked for me.

Not a new or novel technique. Seems quite acceptable in terms of security for lunch stop, and until HM puts mooring buoys closer together or rigs welcome line between them (which has its own issues), saves a lot of bother

If you enjoy a short, but hilly walk, the anchorage at Talland bay is ok.
