Yes, I have seen some of those place names when I was hitch hiking with my then girlfriend, early seventies. Stupid me, it took me a while to realise that 'Sir Brecon' or 'Sir Monmouth', was not the name of the land owner!

Pedant alert! Sir Fynwy is Welsh for Monmouthshire. Sir Monmouth doesnt exist - unless there is a chap called Monmouth who was knighted.

I used to sail on a boat called 'Saoirse' (pronounced seer-sha, we were told). Got used to CG asking us to spell the name of the boat, and had the phonetics down to a fine art. So when a new CG asked, it all came out in one breath: "SierraAlphaOscarIndiaRomeoSierraEcho, over" "Yes sir, I got as far as the first Sierra!"
