For two years I have been trying to see through a badly marked screen on my C70 chartplotter. It was like this when I bought the boat. Some have said that this is an anti-glare layer.

Anyway, I have polished the screen with a soft cloth and toothpaste and it is probably like new: It is shiny and I may have some problems with reflections ....... but it is way better than before.

I use greygate plastic polish Ebay link (no connection) It is like a T-Cut for plastic. Excellent for canopy windows too.

To permanently cure your problems with Raymarine Screens that loose their coatings is to first, polish the screen with Easy Off COOKTOP Cleaner, then use a finer Clear Glaze Plastic Polish to remove the thin layer of film left by the cleaner. That process will take some elbow work and may need several rounds of treatment, but it will remove 100% of the old coating. Then several companies make non-glare EXTERIOR grade screen protectors that can be applied to restore your faulty screen to very near perfect. When the electronic portion of it quits working, then buy a SIMRAD UNIT. This fix works and will not damage your screen or unit. We all love Raymarine.....NOT
