Plopping In

No I don't mean falling in and getting wet !

For all of you who take their boat out of the water for the winter I would be interested in the date you put her back in. Also of course where you keep her in the UK or abroad as this is relevant.

I have scheduled the 16th April for my plop in what about the rest of you ?

We went back in on Monday, have been out for about 8 weeks or so, on the hard at Lymington.

Got all the essential jobs done but didn't get the polishing finished so that can be done from the pontoon and dinghy over the next couple of months at leisure.

I normally pull mine out at the start of January & launch around the end of easter. I had a place about 4 miles from the marina where I stored her for free.

Whilst the boat doesn't need to be out for that long it gave me a few months to get all the household chores out the way & not have to worry about the boat!

I'm in the process of buying a larger boat, which won't be trailable so next year it's gonna have to sit on the hard at portland so due to increased storage costs the new boat probably won't spend as much time out the water!

I'm going in on the 25th April.

Mine came out the first week in Jan (due to rope around prop) polishing antifouling and all the normal chores out of the way with new toys being fitted and finished by end of next week. She is going back in 17th March and I can't wait. I'm getting so excited which is dangerous at my age

Pulled out mid November and due back in next Friday, 4th March.

We are probably going to leave her in a bit longer next winter and pull her out early January after Christmas and the new year are out of the way.

ETA: Our home berth is inland at Lincoln.

My club lifts in that weekend and the week running up to it..

Went back in last weekend after a quick 5 days out had a quick midweek blast as I always like the way the boat feels when fresh in
