Plopping in at the Boatshow

I don't understand why folk want to push the boundires and annoy the marshalls. You can cruise by at a safe distance and enjoy the boats on the outer pontoon.

Don't annoy them as that says more about you than anything else.

I shall be there today, traveling by train, foot, using a ticket and enjoying my first day not working the show in 20 years ....

I fully intend to use the IPTIME INC / ybwmby fridge .

Do the marshals actually have the right to keep you away. If it is a water way etc. Or can you just give them the time honoured 2 finger salute

I worked at the show for a number of years in the 90s...just demo-ing ribs and stuff...even then the marshall boats had something amazing...called a VHF radio... which they were perfectly happy to use to call the Police patrol boat up to deal with idiots who wouldnt obey the restrictions and got all lairy....theres always one.....

And who said anything about being lairy. If the rules are backed up by any laws then fine but if it is just the Marshals overstepping their authority then it is them being lairy. As you say there is always one and it seems to be you thinking people in supposed authority can just make their own rules

Haha...youre the one who mentioned the "time honoured 2 finger salute" not me.....anyway...enjoy the show..

It would be good if there was space on the pontoon for a few day visitors, I'm sure some go that way if was an option.

I don't know any show in the world that' does this unless it's part of a marina. As in already there and. It temp.

Many shows though have tenders to and from yachts at anchor.

Why, it seems a lot of trouble for 'a few', particularly since it's an easy walk from OV, I used to park there for the show, now I moor there for my visit. It is an easy taxi ride from the other Itchen marinas and if you go to Swanwick there is the 2nd hand show and a bus in. There is already no shortage of options for a maritime arrival.
