Please help me

I don’t get much choice over what mine eat. The lab enjoyed a stinky fish corpse from a river bank yesterday. He was very happy with himself.

About 15 months ago, our cat developed a thyroxin problem which meant he had to go on tablets.
The tablets made him feel really bad and he was dragging himself around the house.
We were about to take him up to the vets to have him put down so we decided to take him off the tablets for a few days, hopefully to make him feel better.
At the same time, we encouraged him to eat by tempting him with our own food.
Our initial thoughts were to give him a few weeks of "quality" life.
He picked up and a year later is still with us - enjoying human food.
If he could talk, I'm sure he would say "stuff that cat food".
He still has the problem - the thyroxin imbalance means that he has to eat a lot but he just loves human food.
When he eventually does go, we will be reassured that we gave him some "quality" life rather than the hell he was going through when he was on the tablets.

Yep - they say that you own a dog but a cat owns you.

We have two. The female stays around the house but the Tom we see a couple times a year. He found a new family or families and does the rounds. Chipped, neutered and we try lock him in but to no avail. He's in very good health so we have no real option but to share him out.

They say there are 1 million cats and 2 million cat owners
