Some years ago I remember reading in a boating magazine (think it was yacht rather than power) where a reader had written in with his experiences of fixing the head on his boat. The story went on about the head breaking down and his hillarious attempts to repair it before the imminent arrival of friends for dinner.

Can anyone remember the article and does anyone remember the name of the magazine and the issue number/date etc.

I think it was one of the funniest things I have ever read and would love to read it again.

I remember the article.."saying I smelt a bit was like calling Pol Pot a bit of a rascal" springs to mind.
I think it was PBO but it may have bee YM.
If I come across it I'll let you know.

Was this the article in which he covered himself head to toe with the contents of the heads? The guests had arrived and he casually walked through the cabin and threw himself into the sea to rinse off.

If so, I'm sure it was PBO, about 3 years ago. Sorry can't be any more specific

Dont know if its the same one but I posted a thread on MBY Forum about five years ago. It became a legend. Called "The Exploding Toilet". It's not there now cos long before the forum was altered.

No one can force me to come here-----------

Sorry to bring this one to the top of the pile again.

I have now definitely found the article concerned in some magazines destined for this weeks waste paper collection. It appeared in PBO 367, July 1997.

I have cut it out and added to my collection of interesting articles.
