PLB with AIS

Seamark-Nunn have a price for them on their website. About £485 at the moment. The only thing I don't like is the NFC communication. I'd want to be sure this couldn't drain the battery. Does anyone know if either AIS-SART or PLB can be set to trigger on immersion or LJ inflation? Might be nice for the SART at least.

It's not clear in the sales bumph but I suspect, being a PLB, the only way they got it approved was to sacrifice the self-activation feature. PLBs have never truly self-activated. Certain LJ installations could indeed trigger the antenna unlock mechanism, but you still have to turn them on. I believe it's to avoid accidental activation.
