Hello All,

Long time since I've been around here.

I am rebuilding the galley on my catamaran. I've been donated an old Plastimo Neptune and am looking to refurbish and install it. Any tips or info appreciated.

I don't need to fit it in gimballs (if my cat is heeling at 30deg then I'm not cooking). Do I need to leave an air gap so as not to set fire to the boat or is it well enough insulated to mount it against the ply.

I could heat it up and feel the sides but I need to start the galley build and the cooker isn't in a fit state to light at the moment.

Thanks in advance
Paul

I've just checked the manual for my 2500. It requires an air gap of 40mm behind the unit and 20mm either side. It also states that there should be no projection within 600mm sbove the hob unless it is lined with non-combustible material.

Rob.

P.S. if you need a copy of the manual in pdf format, PM me with an email address to send it to.
