Hi all - My Plastimo Compass has gradually 'clouded' up over the last couple of years (see below). Can these be dismantled and repaired/cleaned or is just not worth it and better off getting a new plastimo 101 compass as i understand it would be a like for like replacement in the same bulkhead hole!? Any help gratefully received!

Is the interior half of the globe clearer? If so is it possible to remove it and rotate it through 180 degrees before replacing?

Dead! That looks like emulsified oil mixed with water.
Bury it and get a new compass.
Keep the cover on your new one.

If it is the liquid that's discoloured rather than the plastic - and Garymalmgren may well be right that at some point a bright spark has tried to top it up with water or alcohol - then if you can empty it and clean, refill with Johnson's baby oil. Not perfect, but a cheap fix that will give it a few years more life.

It looks like there's some sort of deposit on the inside of the perspex. I agree with those who suggest it has been filled with an inappropriate fluid in the past. Also, if I'm right and there is a deposit on the inside of the perspex, then I suspect it may well not be recoverable ?
