Anyone know where I can get the flat plastic black stopper caps for the tops of the stanchions, I have had some stanchions made up but now need some tops!
Thanks

I made mine from Tufnol. They look much like teak but don't suffer from any of the disadvantages of wood. Made to a good tight fit they are never going to come out accidentally

It might be worth trying Mike Lucas. Sadler Yachts used inch tubing with domed black plastic tops and he just might supply them http://www.mikelucasyachting.co.uk I tried handlebar stops but the size was too small for inch tubing. Also I found that the genoa sheets wore on this type of stanchion and also ripped the stops out, so I replaced them all with manufactured stanchions.

I use plastic chair leg covers - to stop the legs of chairs ripping the carpet - the chairs in our cafeteria fit my stanchions perfectly...so have a good supply for many many years!

Try using the rubber/plastic caps as fitted to the bottoms of walking sticks--- Cheap and fit a treat!!

sounds like a great idea but I don't have any walking sticks-yet- and I do not own a cafe ..
Thanks for the ideas thought!!

If they're round, get some plastic bar from RS Components (or somewhere [far] cheaper) and turn them. PTFE turns a treat on a metal or woodworking lathe. Then each stanchion can be individual if you want.

Richard.
