I was on YouTube a short while ago and the video was preceded by an advert for plastic polish

NEW FORMULA PLATINUM POLISH COATING

The plastic on my jammers and hatch vents could do with a bit of revitalisation. I wonder if anybody on the forum has tried the platinum polish they are selling or can recommend a better/cheaper alternative? Everything I have tried to date lasts for a while but quite soon the parts are backed to their rather faded self.

Sorry, not used that but in my experience there are two ways to restore plastics that have suffered from the effects of UV.

1) paint them. Normally making paint stick to certain plastic types is difficuly but once the surface has been degraded by U V it sticks a lot better. Paint them the same colour as the plastic.

2) abrade the surface until you expose fresh undamaged material. In most cases the UV degradation is only skin deep.
