Find out who does the engraving locally for such things as sports trophies. Probably an old style jeweller or a sports shop would know.

I'm rather afraid that an engraver will hurt your pocket way more than is fair! I'd look at scanning it at reasonably high res, then giving the scan to your local signage cutting company and asking them to make you a vinyl mask of the lettering, matching the spacing. It's actually easy with DTP software. Then you can either etch the remainder yourself with ferric chloride, or sandblast the engraving in deeper. It sounds like a schlep but I believe that's how they restore things like bells. The filling in you can do with model enamel- I made keyrings the same way so they looked like loco numbers, but the proper way is to enamel them.
