Pirates - runners and riders list 4th August

Lovely to see you all.

Hope you have a great stop-over & would be most interested in your thoughts on Plumtree & Stone Point channel.

Understand a formal survey will be conducted over the next few weeks & then a longer-term solution will be considered.

Captain Pete will keep you advised on the official line & I will continue to do unofficial number crunching.

Hope we meet up again.

Some very hardy souls at Stone Point. We retired after a couple of hours with a wind blown one year old. Met some nice people, impressed with Clive's water taxi service and amazed at the staying power of Laurin's children, made of tough British stuff they are. Just seen the fire lit but it's dinner in the wheelhouse for us. We haven't regretted buying a wheelhouse cruiser at all this year ;)

British weather.

Not a piratical person, but passed Lazy Kipper going down the Wallet on Friday and saw Laurin as we reversed out of the berth at Shotley on the way home yesterday. So much for S3-4 forecast, regularly 6 true, and gusts of 28kts. Between Stone Banks and Walton Pier was very unpleasant heading SW

Just wanted to say a huge thanks for Clive's water taxi service. Definitely above and beyond the call of duty taking our disorganised, tired and whining crew back to Laurin.

The family really enjoyed the afternoon and evening.
Thanks to all who came along.
Special thanks to Simon (marmalade) and his mate for the musical entertainment.

Couldn't agree more Clive. The excellent singing, playing and repertoire of pirate crew Marmalade made for a really enjoyable time round the fire. (Especially enjoyable for our dog Molly who's certainly never had so many people sing Happy Birthday to her before!)

It was very nice to see some familiar faces and meet lots of nice, friendly, new (to us) people.

Nice too to celebrate 3 x athletics gold medals on the evening, and Big Ben's Finn gold during our very pleasant sail back to the Deben today.

I can report that the anchor held perfectly and came up pretty well mud free.

All of your piratical deeds have been noted, and plans are afoot to seize all vessels that have violated the waters controlled by Captain Pete and his militia!

Public enemy number one has been identified as The Lazy Kipper who dared open fire upon our official watching rib, achieving at least one direct hit. They did not care that we were carrying prisoners grabbed during the raid on the French Connection. A callous crime!

When they are next seen in the area they will be boarded and all those on board thrown to the sharks (OK! more likely mullet), with their vessel sold as recompense for their evil deeds.

This is as a warning to anyone else who thinks they can challenge the authority of the megalomanic Captain Pete!
