Pirates - runners and riders list 4th August

See my post on stone point thread.... you`re worrying about nothing!

Lisa

I have never been a keen 'anchorer', the times I have done it have never had a mishap (yet) but never sleep well as I am waiting to drag!

I have always been able to find a buoy up stream a bit.

Looking less likely that I will make it (again) - this weekly commuting to work is ruining my sailing life!
thanks you two.

Peter - if it comes to it and I do go and you can get to Titchmarsh - you can stay on Black Magic. It's just me and PJ now.

I anchored above number 11 last year on numerous occasions... Good holding... Lots of space... No bad swinging...

Right off the beach would make me nervous... But just a bit higher up and its fine...

Dont sweat it, itll be fine!

If not, just ppppppickup a bouy!

Dredging Stone Point?

No doubt you are following the debate on Stone Point.

As has been said before picking a buoy up in the lower reaches of the Walton Channel or anchoring in Hamford Water are 2 safe & comfortable options.

The Walton & Frinton Yacht Club Open Race Week starts next week so will keep a close eye on Stone Point & any dredging & keep you advised.

Full Circle launched yesterday. Will load up the gear today.

Back to work in Turkey on Monday, but....

I have an air ticket for next Friday, so keeping fingers crossed, we should make it to Pirates.

Great.
It will be good to see you both again.

Just completing some final jobs on the new to me larger dinghy.
Plan on a test launch tomorrow.

3 bags of firewood in stock.
Hope everyone else is collecting.

See you all next weekend.

It's all coming together nicely.... Channel dredged, anchors ready...

Now.. How's the weather looking?

More good news.

Miniboat, my little Walker Bay 8 is now sporting its new bowsprit and shrouds, and a lovely purple jib. Going to collect it in the morning.

I gave the basic bits to Dave the Rigger (DRS), and he did the sorting out and finessing of the design, and all for silly money.

It will make its public debut next weekend.

Jobsagoodun.

Excellent! Much amusement will be had no doubt watching you beings swept out sea upside down! :D

We're not normally much for anchoring but spent a solid day on the hook at Stone point AKA Pirate Island. The entry channel was narrower than two years ago but we managed, and we're almost as wide as a Volvo.

Ahoy Shipmates!!

Yep everything looks in order for next weekend. The long range forecast looks pretty good!!! :)

So just to re-cap....

Dress as a Pirate (if you want)
Hoist your jolly Roger
Bring a BBQ
Bring some wood for the camp fire

We will be berthing in at Titchmarsh along with Mystique - current plan is to sail up on the Friday night from Bradwell (eta 9pm in at Titchmarsh).

Really looking forward to meeting everyone

Ian and Sarah

many thanks captain for the updates.

Despite the exceedingly kind offer of Mr.Smith's fine vessel, logistics and timing dictates that the sensible thing for us to do is duck out of this year's festivities which is a shame. Never mind, have fun all, as I'm sure you will, and get lots of pictures up on here ..........
