Fantastic photos of a great evening thanks to everyone who put so much effort into arranging it.

It was great to put a face to so many user names, we were only sorry we slipped off without saying goodbye - but when we returned to the boat for more provisions we found a sick pirate.

What can I say?

75 people turned up for what proved to be the most magnificent of evenings... the biggest ECF event yet....

The weather was spectacular, remaining hot right through the evening... we had enough firewood for signal beacons right across the east coast, the anchorage looked incredible with so many boats all flying jolly rogers, and the treasure quantities were just simply stunning........ I think the treasure chest should have been sponsored by the dental association!

Thank you all for coming, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

Well we finally arrived home after leaving Titchmarsh at about mid day, looking very much like cooked lobster thanks to the excellent weather. Thanks to Clive for the transport to and from marina, and Mr & Mrs Morgana for accomodation, and for organising the whole thing in the first place. Had a great time and found this time it was my turn to be killed a few hundred times, lucky it was hot enough for the water pistol attacks to dry me out, before they started attacking again. Treasure chest seems to have gone down well so as we managed to save it from the fire, I'll fit better hinges and a lock for next year, plus I may get artistic and add a bit more of a pirate look to it /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Thanks to everyone for coming, and for bringing so many things to go in the chest, that really made it worthwhile. Also to those that brought some nice shiny bits and pieces not intended for the children /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif , very much appreciated, thanks again.
Never did get a chance to say hello to everyone, but I did manage to meet a few new people including Pinkie himself /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
and Lisa (told you the ECF would sort it) /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Top do, really enjoyed myself, tho' was a little under the weather this morning. Nothing to with beer of course, probably coming down with something.

Best of it was the obvious enjoyment of the kids, and that was mostly down the the Morganna organisation machine /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

T'was a great do - well done team Morgana et al. Fab weather, good friends old and new and a first night at anchor. Still plenty of firsts even at my age/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A warm and sunny, wind mostly on the nose motor sail thrash down the Wallet (in calm mode) got me into Bradwell with 0.5m to spare so needn't have hurried after all. Don't you just love the East coast /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Fantastic weekend, many thanks to all who offered us a berth when we decided not to bring Vreny, and HUGE thanks to Ian for inviting a small family on board Wild Otter, and especially for appearing perfectly calm at the massive amounts of kit we brought as new parents not yet used to packing light.

We had a great weekend, met a new friend, and test sailed a possible replacement for Vreny.

Cracking weekend, thanks Morgana et al for organisation. We slept so well we didn't notice that the anchor had not set on the turn. Good job there was enough chain out, but it is one way to ensure deep water for an early start.

Must say that this was the very essence of what we are about. Brilliant, just brilliant.
My family really enjoyed themselves and we have a new little boat bird. She managed to hop onto 5 floating devices on Sunday morning, and took the steering of FC going back to Titchmarsh.

As you probably guessed, Louise was more than happy to feed Elizabeth, as normally seems to happen, we had far too much food with us anyway so she helped to reduce the pile substantially. Good to see you all again too, and thanks for everything.

Elizabeth was obviously rather taken by Louise, but rather thrown by the change in clothes, both on Saturday and again on Sunday when we saw you on the pontoon at Titchmarsh. Thank you on E's behalf for all the time you spent with her, not the least when I went off to collect Sarah. M spent most of the journey, from Stone Point to Titchmarsh and back, asleep in the bow of the dinghy.

Echoing the thanks to Morgana and others for organising the day. It was great to put some names to faces too.

Had a teeny bit of a sore head in the morning, but a sail round into Pennyhole bay and then a day's windsurfing sorted that out.

I look forward to meeting some of you again.
