Pick up crew in Ipswich

Hi,
I'm picking up crew who are arriving by train in Ipswich on Friday evening. Does anywhere have easy access after hours for a short stay?

Ipswich Haven would be the most convenient. Lock open 24h, give the Marina a ring to see if there is a short stay charge or if they wouldn't bother for a hour or so out of hours?

Limited hours on free flow.....but operational 24/7

The lock is closed for maintenance during the daytime on 28th and 29th November.

An alternative might be for them to jump in a taxi, cost about £20, to Shotley. There is a pontoon outside the lock where, if you call the marina on VHF, i'm fairly sure they'll have no problem with you picking crew up. Saves you 2 or 3 hours up and down the river.

I would also consider £5 in a taxi and r/v at Foxes. Saves hassle of lock , easy tidal access and the chance of a pleasant cruise up river to get new crew sorted. I'm sure the HM could assist with short stay.

Easiest access is Foxs (no lock) and the taxi is about the same distance as the Haven.

Edit; and CCJ will give them lots of Duvel to drink if they're waiting!
