This is probably as bl**dy stupid question, but how do i paste a jpeg into the body text of a post?

The image has to be on a web site somewhere, and not on your own computer, otherwise it won't work.

Oh go on, give us some more clues on how to do this, I got a photo on the web site but can't seem to get it on a post??

find your pic, right click on it and select properties. Where it says address(URL), hold down left & drag across the http://etc to highlight it all, and right click and copy. Make a post and type [image]right click and paste and then type[/image] and that will inert your picture when you make the post.
