OK, I know how that feels, but hey!!

Last summer (there were the odd few days) we had two brill days beached up on various parts of the Llyn Peninsular. One, by accident on the outer reaches of the Porthmadog estuary, where we landed the boat and went off beach combing and came back to find the boat beached until the next tide. We sayed all day in hot weather, the kids loved it and so did we - 3 miles of totally deserted beach, not a soul around.

The next wasn't planned either. We landed the boats and went ashore and had a small cove beach to ourselves. We decided this was great and I drove the boat back to get supplies, wine and a BBQ. Again we stayed all day and into the early dusk, the kids played in the sea, the parents got slightly inebriated and we had 12 hours in the sunshine and a great day was had by all.

I'm making myself miserable now!!

I've had a BBQ, probably on the same beach. Just before port Meriden. Follow the sticks round the shallows and then theres a nice deep bit to anchor the boat right near the beach.

I wouldn't have thought it very seaworthy.

As a boat owner at Shell Bay I have the authority to tell you that the floating shed you refer to is owned by 2 old folks who regularly go and sit on it staring out to sea.

It is quite a piece of kit really, never moves therefore is very economic to run, has a fantastic 'anchorage' and is much admired by serious boat owners.

Looks lovely - tried to buy one once (not) but it only sleeps two !!!

The engine is usually a 15 hp Honda. Actually that a good point I wonder if i could tow Kelisha onto a caravan site - would it count as under the definition of a caravan ??? I must go look it up !!1

Whats this about the Midlands??

Haydn, whats all this about the Midlands.....Oh!, you mean Portmeirion!!! Just kidding, I know exactly where you mean. Actually, last year, I walked all that channel at low springs in order to "map out" the deep water channel for safe navigation into Portmeirion and out again.

Being as how you know the place, if you were to go from Portmeirion into the channel and head for Porthmadog (more or less) you would see the little cove were we got BBQ'd and pi...., er I mean slightly merry :)

If you are ever around Porthmadog again, let me know you are coming, send me a PM and you will be made most welcome. There are good visitor berths at the Yacht Club. Cheers.

Re: Whats this about the Midlands??

Would love to come to port merrydom. Why dont you welsh learn to spell in a reasonable fashion??
But it's a bloody long way from Plymouth. Anyway already said before. It's ok round there I suppose. Portmadog is a nice sort of place and the yacht club is very friendly. Just wish the sea came in more often. But afraid I put up with Pwhelli long enough. But you never know. Set off for a little September cruise a few years ago and finished up in Stourport! So Portmadog has half a chance. By the way. Just recieved our yearly Christmas card from Padstow harbour master. They certainly work hard to keep friends coming back for ten quid a night!

Yeah I had a look at the site and decided not to correct myself for obvious reasons.

Re: Whats this about the Midlands??

We do spell 'reasonably'... you just don't read 'reasonably'...anyway Dave decided he isn't really Welsh..........HIS problem............

I am WHAT I say I am

It's highly unlikely that the weather is the only thing pi**ing you off. I mean watching your woeful cricket performance in our endless summer must be depressing too. Hahahahahahahahahahaha............
