Just sitting in front of the computer feeling sorry for myself, boats on an island on the thames and cant get to it because the waters to high, the weather is absolutly shite and the thing is costing thousands to keep.
Just wondered why we bother for a couple of poxy sunny months in the summer( summers a joke) .
Please somone cheer me up with tales of hot days, blue skies and steamy nights.......

Well... just think how pi**ed off you'd be with no boat at all. You would find yourself stuck in a huge traffic jam along with every other bugger during those couple of summer months trying to get away from everyone else!! Anyway we didnt do too bad for good weather this year in my opinion- got to use my boat most weekends with the canopy fully off!!

At least youve got you're own little bit of space afloat, I know I'd go nuts having to be ashore all the time now- besides think of all the extras and improvements you can waste even more money on during the winter. sorry I forgot I was supposed to be cheering You up!!

I think boats can be a fine line between a ridiculous waste of time and money, and being the one thing that keeps you sane, You've gotta have some fun dont you think?

Can't see the problem myself. Spent most of today on the Thames (tidal bit) Bit chilly yeah, sun was out tho, engine roared and I rippled the water all the way from Barnes to the Barrier and back.

Why do people think boating is a summer thing anyway. I have brilliant days out in the winter! Roll on the cold clear frosty days. Better for the engine as well!

Wish I'd known. I had to go to Blackheath to fix a computer and it took me bloody ages. You could have given me a lift. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Decided that boat will remain in water and in use next year as I am so PI**ED OFF already as boat on bits of wood looking sad . If in the unlikely event that it is not raining this weekend I might go down and sit on flybridge and pretend.

Heating now diagnosed as needing a new heat exchanger (don't ask cost) and all I can do is plan and think about next season.

Just seems to cost cost cost but the good times ahead will, I know be worth it all..........

LBS should cheer things up a bit once the Christmas ordeal is over.

Nick

My boat is here and out of the water in time for winter....

Re: **SS** OFF

Cant recomend that - SWMBO just tried and now feels worse than before - which has only proved to her that she hadnt reached rock bottom before, so perhaps she shouldnt have tried then, bu as she now is at rock bottom it is probably a viable course of action....
