I am having a hickup , when I upload a pic to photobucket, it changes to monochromatic eventhough it is saves as colour, also what was the correct resize again? and after uploading to PB what is it I do to get it onto a post? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

If it is going monochromatic on you, then there is some sort of issue with original pic. Can you post it?

Simply click on the IMG box under the thumbnail pic, which will copy it, and paste it here.

Well... I know that I'm not one of the brightest sparks around, particularly where computers are concerned, but I have just spent an hour trying to upload a piccy....
I have resized the piccy... got it on my windows live space with my other photos and have hit the 'image' button on the posting place and up comes the 'explorer user' 'script prompt' box which asks for the url of the piccy and I dutifully paste it in and hit 'OK' it appears on my message box with [image] in front of and after the url, which is very long.... but when i preview... i see the long url, but not the piccy! What am I doing wrong?
Is it that it doesn't like the Microsoft picture space place I have and wants me to only use Photobucket? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The key point here I think is the missing / you have [image] in front of the link data or use shorter

at end of data ...

Once you see the result - its actually really easy to do ... Photobucket is dead easy though ... and for those resizes ... Message Board is the setting to upload at (select at bottom of browse section ...) 640 x 480. If you forget PB has execellent edit facility ...

[/ QUOTE ] I'm not clear from what you say quite how far you have got. Ok you have got the pic all ready, as a jpg, on your computer and you know where it is.

You get photobucket up and running (It aint half slow sometimes!) and you have registered to use it and you are all logged in ready to go You go to "my album" and you will see the upload box appear. You can type in the full file location and name if you know it but you wont, so hit the "browse" button and locate your pic, double click on its file name. Then select a suitable maximum size from "Uploading options" (Thats a recent change to the way PB works which I dont think is covered by the tutor) and hit the "upload" button. Eventually you will see a thumbnail appear with three boxes of codes below it. Click on the words "Img code" and the code in the adjacent box will turn blue and be automatically copied to your clipboard. (again this auto copying to the clipboard is new and is not covered by the tutor).
Now you go to the forum type in what you want to say then on the next line do a right click followed by "paste" and the url of the pic at PB should appear preceded by

When you go to preview your pic should appear in place of all the code.

On my hard drive I have a pic at C:\My Documents\My Pictures called amygraduationreducedjpg.jpg Once that is uploaded to PB it has a url of http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f337/Vic43/amygraduationreducedjpg.jpg (If you click on that now the pick will appear in a new window) but I have copied the IMG code so when I paste that in to my post I get that url enclosed in the

tags. but when i go to preview or complete the posting the pic will appear.

As Nigel says it really is simple you dont need a degree (in Psychology) and eventually you'll kick your self.
